除了全家加熱菸大多數原廠煙彈是以單次使用為設計前提，實際可吸口數會受到主機設定、每口吸入時間、吸力與抽吸間隔影響。不同品牌與型號的使用時間可能有所差異，建議以產品說明及原廠標示為準。
一般不建議加熱菸全家進行重複加熱。即使部分主機具備再次加熱或二回使用功能，也不代表所有煙彈都能相容。完成一次加熱後，煙霧量與風味可能下降，再次加熱還可能出現苦味、焦味、異味或吸阻改變。
在台灣搜尋加熱菸等資訊時，應先確認產品來源、主機規格與最新法規，不要只依照網路心得判斷是否能二次使用。
全家加熱煙煙彈若出現破損、變形、滲漏、受潮或明顯焦味，應立即停止使用。主機若異常發熱、出現故障燈號、異音，或無法正常加熱，也不應繼續操作。
判斷加熱菸能使用幾回，不能只看是否仍有煙霧，而應確認煙彈規格、主機功能與原廠使用限制。若產品未明確標示支援重複加熱，建議不要自行嘗試，以降低設備損壞與使用風險。
